Arcille Lillian Niemuth

Age 76, of Weyauwega, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, passed away peacefully and was called home into the arms of her Lord, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at Appleton Medical Center following a courageous hard fought illness. She was born on March 1, 1932 in the Town of Lind, Waupaca County, daughter of the late Louis and Mabel (Pagel) Ponto. She was baptized March 27, 1932 in the Town of Weyauwega and confirmed March 25, 1945 at St. Peters Ev. Lutheran Church in Weyauwega. Arcille attended Lind Center School and then St. Peter Lutheran School. She graduated from Weyauwega High School in 1950. She married Gordon Otto Niemuth on February 13, 1954 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Weyauwega. Arcille was employed at Zwickers of Appleton and Waupaca, Brasch's in Fremont, and Taylor Cheese Corp. of Weyauwega. She was a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Weyauwega. Arcille enjoyed being a homemaker, with her cooking, sewing, gardening, reading and cleaning. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. The pastor's visits from Pastor Lemke and Pastor Robbert and listening to Sunday church service on WDUX brought her much comfort these past month's when she wasn't able to attend church. Arcille is survived by her husband of 54 years Gordon, Weyauwega; daughters: Cheryl (Scott) Peters, Weyauwega; Mary (Tom) Hotvedt, Waupaca; Arcille was blessed with 4 grandchildren: Eric, Renee, Kyle and Kendra; 4 brothers: Eldor (Joyce) Ponto, Weyauwega; Alton (Linda) Ponto, Weyauwega; Elmer Ponto and special friend Jan, Fond du Lac; Lester (Jean) Ponto, Greenville; brothers-in-law: Robert (Jan) Niemuth, Fremont; Charles (Marita) Niemuth, West Bend; Glen (Sandy) Niemuth, Fremont; sisters-in-law: Eunice Kempf, Weyauwega; Joyce Ludwig, Oshkosh; and Nelda Niemuth, Winneconne; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many wonderful friends. Arcille was preceded in death by her parents, her mother and father-in-law Emil and Sadie Niemuth, an infant sister Vernice, sister-in-law Doris, brothers-in-law, Kenneth Niemuth, Emil Niemuth Jr., Arden Kempf and Don Ludwig, also a nephew Bryan Niemuth. Arcille's family would like to thank the wonderful doctors and nurses and staff at Appleton Medical Center, the Weyauwega Health Care Center, Riverside Medical Center and ThedaCare Physicians. The Christian Funeral for Arcille will be held on Friday, September 26, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Weyauwega with Rev. Robbin Robbert and Rev. Dennis Lemke officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Weyauwega. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
