Age 73, of King, formerly of Weyauwega, passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2010 the Wisconsin Veteran's Home in King. He was born April 10, 1937 in Clintonville, son of the late Aurie and Grace (Commings) Main. On April 22, 1967 he married Harriet Pelton at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Waupaca. Red proudly served his country with the U.S. National Guard. He worked for Ray Akey at the Shell Station in Weyauwega for many years and then took ownership in the early 1970's until he sold the business. Red then worked as a welder at Oshkosh Truck until an accident forced his retirement in 1986. Red loved carpentry work, working in his woodshop at King where he has resided since 2000. He was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Waupaca and the Arndt-Bruley American Legion Post #176 of Weyauwega. He is survived by his wife Harriet; 4 step-children: Steve Block, Waupaca; Thomas Block, Waupaca; Mark (Janelle) Block, New Berlin; Terry (Peggy) Block, Fremont; grandchildren: Chelsie, Jamie, Christopher, Joshua, Dion and Samantha, a great-grandchild Carter and a sister Cleora Main, Neenah. Red was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Lucille Main. The funeral service for Red will be held on Monday, December 6, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Waupaca (415 S. Main St.) with Fr. Nigel Bousfield officiating. Burial will be in the Wisconsin Veteran's Cemetery in King. Friends may call directly at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Full Military Honors will take place at the church following the service.
