Barbara Jane Black (Sikora) age 80 of Manawa, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 14, 2022. Barbara was born on September 25, 1941, in Canton, Ohio daughter of the late Maxine and William Sikora. She was married in 1971 to the love of her life, Leonard Black.
Barbara held a Masters Degree in Nursing which she obtained at Ohio State University. In 2000, she retired as Director of Health Services for Waupaca County after many years of faithful service to the people of our area. Barbara enjoyed traveling, touring Europe and the US. She enjoyed the outdoors. She was a very talented wood carver, painter and restorer of all things. Barbara loved people and was always lending a hand to anyone for anything. There isn’t a person that would disagree that she truly was a saint on earth. She saw the bright side of every situation and truly enjoyed being here with everyone she loved. She loved the Catholic Church and enjoyed being a part of their good works. Barbara is enjoying being with her many putty tats again.
Barbara is survived by her husband Leonard; sister Martha, many nieces and nephews; many cousins including 5 grand-cousins and 10 great-grand-cousins: Triston, Olivya, Evelyn, Gwyneveve, Hyacynth, Alyce, Lylith, Kira, Avacyn, Aydon.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; sister: Margaret; brother: Bill.
The Funeral Mass for Barbara will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manawa with Fr. Matthew Rappl officiating, burial will be in the parish cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 17, at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Life Celebration Center in Manawa from 5-7 pm and on Friday AT THE CHURCH from 12:30 – 1:45 pm.
