Betty June Kosmerchock, age 93 of New London, formerly of Ogdensburg, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022 in New London. She was born on January 5, 1929, daughter of the late Lloyd and Eunice (Cartwright) Haight. Betty was united in marriage to David D. Kosmerchock on June 21, 1947 and was the proud mother to 8 children.
Betty and David farmed in Ogdensburg until their retirement. She loved horses and had riding stables for several years. She also loved cats and dogs, and had a heart for most all animals. Betty made and decorated many cakes for all occasions. She loved to make quilts, do arts and craft projects, ceramics, put together jig-saw puzzles and finished many search a word books.
Betty is survived by her children: Donna Balthazor, Jane Beyer, Barbara Blank (Milton), David L. Kosmerchock (Kathy), William Kosmerchock, Joseph Kosmerchock (Helen), Terri Weasner (Jack); 19 grandchildren; 39 great-granchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren, with 2 on the way; several step-great-granchildren; sister: Doris Schmitt, Beaver Dam; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David; daughter: Jean Kreps; grandson: William Kosmerchock; 3 sons-in-law: Leroy Beyer, Jerry Kreps, Sam Balthazor; sister: Genevieve Burdick; brothers: Laverne Haight and William Haight.
The Funeral Mass for Betty will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manawa with Fr. Matthew Rappl officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. A visitation for Betty will be held from 9:00- 10:45 on Tuesday at the church.
