Carl Thomas Lucht, 71, of Manawa, Wisconsin, passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Cherry Meadows in Appleton after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Carl was born on October 29, 1952, in New London and grew up in Manawa. He graduated from Little Wolf High School in 1970 and spent most of his career driving semi. Carl enjoyed playing cards, watching the Badgers, Brewers, Bucks, and Packers, keeping up on politics, bird watching, listening to music, singing, and spending time with his grandkids. It was rare for Carl to walk into a place without knowing at least one person there, and if he didn't know anyone, he did by the time he left - he loved talking to people.
Carl is survived by his wife of 38 years, Kathleen (Rueden) Lucht; children: Landon (Niki) Lucht, Ashley (Matt) Timm, Courtney (Brent) Erickson; four grandchildren: (Camden, Kyla, Madison, and Miley); siblings: Larry Lucht, June (Frank) Voss, Jack (Janice) Lucht; brothers-in-law: Denny Nelson and Ron (Paula) Rueden; sisters-in-law: Diane Knops and Becky (John) Sager; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Carmen (VanStraten) Lucht; sisters: Patsy Lucht and Lurana (Lucht) Nelson; parents-in-law: Roger and Verona (King) Rueden; sisters-in-law: Sandra Lucht and Debby Rueden, and brother-in-law Ron Knops.
