Carolyn Sohn

Carolyn Sohn, age 56, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2021, in Fayetteville AR.

Carolyn was born on March 19, 1965, in Springfield, IL to Robert and Gertrude (Jonely) Sohn.

In 1983 she graduated from Forest City High School and attended the University of Arkansas. She worked at the UA and as an Administrative Assistant for University Housing. She primarily worked with freshman athletes and international students. She enjoyed antiquing, loved her cats, and finding hole-in-the-wall restaurants.

She is survived by one brother, David, in Forest City, AR, 2 nieces, Carly and Jenna, and one nephew, Jacob. Her godmother and aunt, Alice Jonely, New London, WI, and aunt Carol Goodman, Appleton, WI also survive her. Her cousins in Wisconsin, Debbie Jonely, Sandy (Alan) Abel, Pam (Mark) Ross, and Josh Goodman will miss her yearly visits to the north. She always bought Wisconsin cheese to take home so her friends would know the delight of real cheese.

Carolyn survived Type 1 diabetes and had a kidney transplant in 2007.

Thank you to Ruth Ann, Andrea, Tia, Flo and Cecilia for being true friends who stuck with her thru thick and thin, and an extra special thanks to Alisha and Dawn, whose friendship went above and beyond to be with her until the very end.

She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Gertrude Sohn, an infant brother Michael Sohn, her uncles Kenneth Jonely and Donald Goodman.

Thank you to all of the nurses, doctors, and other staff at all of the various hospitals and nursing homes, including Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville, AR.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021, at 11:00 am at Oakwood Cemetery in Weyauwega, WI.
