Chancy Walker

Walker, Chancy Marvin Age 86, of Manawa, was received by the Lord on Friday December 30, 2005 at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center in Neenah. Chancy was born on November 30, 1919 in Sugar Bush, son of the late Alvirus & Emma (Daskam) Walker. On June 18, 1944, Chan married Glendore Miller at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Symco. Chancy started his career as a farmer and then moved to Manawa in 1951. A business man and a Manawa promoter all his life, Chancy started and ran several businesses including Barn O Matic which he owned and operated with Gordon Carew in the 1950's. Then he was a co-owner of Trail et Trailers in the 1960's, S & W Sales and The Groomer in the 1970's. Chan was also an auctioneer and a Realtor during these years and started Walkerland Sales Realty with his son Weylin. Chan was always a big Manawa area supporter and was instrumental in encouraging doctors and dentists to set up practice in Manawa. Chan's other activities included being an avid hunter and fisherman, snowmobiler and also being Santa Claus for over 30 years. Chan was a member of the Manawa Lions Club, a promoter and volunteer of the Manawa Rodeo for 40 years, member of the Manawa Coffee Club, and was a loyal Green Bay Packer fan. Besides spending winters at their home in Jupiter, Florida, they enjoyed traveling to many other countries. He was always very optimistic and loved telling jokes and stories. He was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa where he was a former member of the church council and served as past-president of the congregation. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years Glendore; three daughters, Waunita (Ron) Radke, Manawa, their children, Tyler (Stacy) Radke, Manitowoc, Jennifer and Jolene Radke, Arizona, Travis Radke, Manawa; Julie (Jeff) Wurth, Manawa, their children Tiffany Wurth and her fiancé Luke Hass, Manawa, Jenna Wurth, Manawa; Cathy (Gus) Golden, De Pere, their children Amber Golden, Green Bay; Heather and Lindsey Golden, De Pere; his son, Weylin (Nancy) Walker, Manawa, their children Michelle (Joe) Ferg, Fremont, Shane Walker, Manawa. Also, his great-grandsons: Bracyn and Rohan Hass, Manawa; and Lawton Golden Maresh, Green Bay. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends further survive Chancy. Besides his parents, 2 brothers and 4 sisters preceded him in death. The funeral service for Chancy will be held on Monday January 2, 2006 at noon at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa with Rev. H. William Jordan officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville. Friends may call at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa on Sunday January 1, 2006 from 4-8 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
