Charlotte Mae Poole, age 91, of Manawa, passed away on Thursday September 27, 2007 at the Manawa Community Nursing Center. She was born on August 2, 1916 in Necedah, WI, daughter of the late Charles and Amanda (Larsen) Lecy. On October 25, 1941, she married Eldo Arno Poole in Dale. He preceded her in death in 2001. She graduated from Appleton High School with the Class of 1934. She was a teacher and taught one room schools in and around the Hortonville area. Following her marriage, she lived in Waukegan, Illinois, then Milwaukee, then Bloomington, Minnesota, back to Waukegan, and finally moving to Manawa in 1987. While she was in Waukegan, she worked at the Public Library. She was a member of the Manawa United Methodist Church, and was an active member of Mary's Circle and the Eastern Star. Prior to moving to Manawa, she was active in the Methodist Church and the United Church of Christ, teaching Sunday school, playing the organ, and being involved with the choir. Charlotte enjoyed writing poetry, playing piano and organ. She is survived by two sons: Glenn (Vicky) Poole, Manawa; Leon D. Poole and special friend Sonny, Piedmont, S.C.; her grandchildren: Keith Poole, Manawa; Wayne (Carrie) Poole, Manawa; Jennifer (Terry) Simmons, Easley, S.C.; also 5 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 4 brothers. The funeral service for Charlotte will be held on Sunday, September 30, at 3:00 p.m. at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa with Rev. Dale Eggert officiating. Burial will be in the Hortonville Union Cemetery. Friends may call directly at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
