Dale W. Wachholz, age 78, was called home unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, to be with his Savior and reunited with his children. He was born July 19, 1945, in Milwaukee. He was the son of Arden and Ella (Hardel) Wachholz.
Dale graduated from Washington High School, Milwaukee in 1963. After graduation, Dale started his career in truck driving of over 50 years. Most of his career as a UPS driver.
Dale married Edith Wedell on February 24, 1968, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Milwaukee. He lived in Oak Creek, WI with his wife and children until they moved to Waupaca in 2000.
Dale loved working with wood, making furniture, as well as repairing furniture. He was often referred to as "Mr. Fixit!" His cars were always in spotless condition, inside and out! He and Edith loved traveling. Some special trips by motorcycle to Yellowstone and Northern WI were treasured. He also liked camping and hunting and he always enjoyed spending time with many friends and relatives.
He was so proud of both his children, Kimberly Sue Wachholz and Brian Mark Wachholz. Brian's initials were BMW and Dale jokingly always said he wanted a BMW! His grandchildren, Michal El Shahawy (age 9) and Madison El Shahawy (age 6) reside in Southern California and were his pride and joy.
Dale was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Manawa, WI.
Survivors include his wife, Edith; twin brother, Rev. Dean (Betty) Wachholz (Michigan); brother, Glenn (Eleanor) Wachholz (Muskego); two grandchildren: Micah and Madison El Shahawy; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and numerous cousins!
Dale was a special man to many and will be greatly missed. He was One of the Best.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his two children, Brian in June 2021 and Kimberly in September 2023.
To celebrate and honor Dale's life, a funeral service will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa at 11:00am with Rev. Nathan Reichle officiating. A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at the church from 1:30pm - 4:30pm and on Monday at the church prior to the service from 9:30am - 10:45am. Burial will be in Scandinavia Lutheran Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established for St. Paul Lutheran Church and School.
