Darryl G. Wendt

Age 59, of Manawa, passed away on Monday, November 5, 2007 at Appleton Medical Center. He was born on June 25, 1948 in New London, son of the late Elmer & Ardine (Arndt) Wendt. On October 25, 1969 he married Nancy Schultz in Clintonville. Darryl was a long time employee of CR Meyer in Oshkosh, affectionately nicknamed T-Rex. Darryl continued working as a Project Director through the end. After being diagnosed with cancer more than a year ago, he continued to live his life the way he wanted, enjoying his little projects around the house and refusing to relinquish the keys to his lawn tractor. He spent his final day surrounded by his family and listening to his Packers beat the Chiefs, before losing his hard fought battle. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Nancy; his two children: Michael (Anne) Wendt; Tammy (Jason) Brauch; a brother Terry (Sandy) Wendt and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents. The funeral service for Darryl will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Blaine Niskanen officiating. Burial will be in Little Creek Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. and on Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
