David Lyle Thornton, age 72, of Symco, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Theda Care Hospital in Appleton. He was born on March 30, 1950, in Neenah, son of the late Walter and Maria (Kowalkowski) Thornton. On November 9, 1991, he was united in marriage to Bonnie Schoen Ernst.
David graduated from Menasha High School. He was a security guard for many years with Pinkerton Security and most recently at Rawhide Boys Ranch in New London. David loved spending time on the water fishing.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie; stepchildren: JoAnn (Joseph) Keahey and Alan Ernst; 3 step grandchildren; brother: Bruce (Barb) Thornton. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Marianne Thornton.
A Celebration of Life for David will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022, from 4-5:45p.m. at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Life Celebration Center of Manawa. A service to honor David’s life will be held at 5:45 p.m. at the Celebration Center.
