Donald W. Ponto , age 78, of Weyauwega, passed away Monday December 18, 2006, at Waupaca Elder Care. Donald was born August 9, 1928, in Weyauwega, son of the late Edward and Bertha (Frederick) Ponto. In his younger years he hauled milk for Wagner's Cheese and worked at American Can in Menasha. Later he farmed in the townships of Weyauwega and Lind until his retirement. He lived a full life. He enjoyed collecting toy tractors, listening to polka music and traveling throughout the country. Don was a life member of St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church , Weyauwega. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Joyce (Murray) Ponto; his children: Kaarina (James) Stanley, Knoxville; James Ponto, Weyauwega; Donald Jr. (Carole) Ponto, Weyauwega; William (Lynn) Ponto, Weyauwega; 10 grandchildren: Michelle (Kevin) Dibelius, Neenah; Michael Ponto, Neenah; John (Rachel) Stanley, Wataga, IL; Kristin Stanley, Bensenville, IL; Jill Stanley, Knoxville; Adam Bartelt, Sheboygan; Justin Ponto, Weyauwega; Alecia Luedtke, Weyauwega; Katie Ponto, Weyauwega; Andrea Ponto, Weyauwega; four great-grandchildren: Ethan Stanley, Jackson Stanley, Seraphin Stanley and Kaitlin Dibelius. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Edgar and Ralph; a sister, Florence; and brother-in-law, Gordon Loss. The funeral for Donald will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, December 21, 2006, at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church, with Rev. Robbin Robbert and Rev. Dennis Lemke officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Weyauwega. Friends may call at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Weyauwega from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, and Thursday, at the church, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
