Doris C. Tank

Age 96, of Weyauwega, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Bethany Home in Waupaca. She was born on September 27, 1916, in Hanover, daughter of the late Max and Lenora (Riebe) Jende. On May 3, 1947, she was united in marriage to Vernon "Fritz" Tank in Hales Corners. He preceded her in death in 1993. Doris graduated from Little Wolf High School in Manawa and then attended Beauty College in Milwaukee. She lived and farmed with her husband Fritz in the Town of Royalton for many years. She also owned the Beauty Shop in Weyauwega for many years. Doris loved sewing, gardening, and working with her flowers. She was a member of St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Weyauwega and their Ladies Aid. She is survived by her children: Sharon Frye, New London; David Tank, King; Audrey (Clifford) Hohn, Black Creek; Barbara Baehman, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Susan (Neil) Stedman, Waupaca; four grandchildren: Angela (Robert) Blink, Jacci Melter, Bryan (Jennifer) Hohn and Chad (Julie) Hohn; seven great-grandchildren. She is further survived by sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Jerry Baehman and Tom Frye, one sister Leona Krawczyk, and a brother Larry Jende also sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. The Christian Funeral for Doris will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church, Weyauwega, with Rev. Dennis Lemke and Rev. Newlin Schafer officiating. Burial will be in Little Wolf Cemetery, Town of Little Wolf. A visitation for Doris will be held directly at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
