Edward Louis Prill (Eddie) passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 16, 2022 of natural causes, he was 83. He was born on September 18, 1938 in Manawa, Wisconsin. He was the son of Louis Prill and Clara (Puls) Prill. On July 10, 1965, Ed married Patricia Van Sant (Patsy as he always called her) in Plainfield, WI, a marriage that lasted 57 years.
Ed attended St. Paul Lutheran School, Manawa High School and then Wisconsin State University, Stevens Point, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in History and Economics. He furthered his education at the University of Illinois receiving a Master’s Degree and PHD in the College of Business in 1968. In the fall of that year, Ed and Pat moved to Fort Collins Colorado where he taught at Colorado State University in the College of Business for 45 years.
Ed will be greatly missed by his wife Patsy, children Merideth Steely (Bill), Grant Prill, grandchildren Madison and Will Steely, 4 nieces and 3 nephews. He loved his family and his greatest joy was spending time with them in both Fort Collins and at the cabin at Bear Lake.
In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by a brother Larry and Sister Nancy and a nephew Steve Van Sant.
Funeral Services for Ed will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Nathan Reichle officiating. Burial will be in Little Wolf Cemetery, Town of Little Wolf. A visitation for Ed will be held at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
A celebration of life will be held at his home church of St. John Lutheran Church in Fort Collins, CO at a later date.
The family would like to thank the EMTs, nurses, doctors and very special friends who have been so kind and supportive.
