Age 90, of Manawa, went to the hands of her Lord on Thursday, September 23, 2010 in King, Wisconsin. She was born on April 29, 1920, in the Town of Little Wolf, daughter of the late August and Helena (Mundt) Mittelstaedt. On December 3, 1938, she married the love of her life Ralph Olson in Manawa. He preceded her in death in 1992. Eleanor, along with her husband Ralph and brother-in-law Clarence Olson started Olson Lumber Co. which is now Kettle Moraine Hardwood. They also started Olson Sand and Gravel, which now is Cedar Lake Sand and Gravel, and built and ran Timber Inn which is now MJ Stevens. All of these places are located on Aurora Road and Highway 41 in the Town of Addison. Eleanor was a member of the Manawa Garden Club, Manawa Homemakers, and Zion Lutheran Church in Manawa and their Ladies Aid. She is survived by her children: Thomas (companion Sharon) Olson, Manawa; JoAnn (Richard) Jeffords, Slinger; Daniel (special friend Marianne) Olson, Mequon; son-in-law: Bob Winters, West Bloomfield; grandchildren: Annette Clark, Cindy (Dan) Wheaton, Jessie Winters, James (Carrie) Jeffords, Rachel (Ted) Stoffel, Jan (Greg) Kreuser and Arika Olson; also 7 great-grandchildren; brother Erv (Eileen) Mittelstaedt, Manawa. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, husband, twin infant sons, a daughter Cheryl Winters and a brother Clarence Mittelstaedt. The funeral service for Eleanor will be held on Monday, September 27, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Manawa with Rev. Vilas Mazemke officiating. Burial will be in Little Wolf Cemetery, Town of Little Wolf. Friends may call directly at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
