Elizabeth “Betty” J. Wollenberg, age 85, Waupaca, formerly of Manawa, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2016. She was born on August 19, 1930, Cook County, Illinois, daughter of the late Frederick and Mary (Christensen) Morris. On August 20, 1949, she was united in marriage to Ferdinand “Shorty” Wollenberg; he preceded her in death in 1995. Elizabeth worked at Sturms, Manawa for 20 years, Trade Winds, Manawa for 20 years and also at Crystal House Assisted Living, Waupaca for 5 years. Elizabeth loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. She enjoyed playing cribbage, gardening, going to the casino and visiting. She also enjoyed spending time visiting and going out to eat with her friends, Kay and Maynard Sordahl.
She is survived by her children: Caroline (Dave) Behnke, Weyauwega; Judy (Daryl) Popke, New London; Linda (Robert) Tate, Weyauwega; Rex (Cheryl) Wollenberg, Ogema; Frank (Susan) Wollenberg Ogdensburg; Kelly (Pat) Wollenberg, New London; sister Dorothy (David) Kaufman, Waukesha. Elizabeth is further survived by her 20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Husband, a brother William Morris, 7 siblings, a granddaughter, Angela Behnke and a grandson, Kelly Wollenberg.
Funeral services for Elizabeth will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Baldwin’s Mills with Rev. Roger Nielsen officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the Little Wolf Cemetery, Town of Little Wolf.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Baldwin’s Mills.
