George Martin Kunnanz

Age 93, Clintonville, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2008 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. George was born on February 9, 1915 in Fessenden, North Dakota, son of the late Peter and Kathrine (Dorschner) Kunnanz. On April 11, 1938, he was united in marriage to Ruth Mattmiller in Antigo. George lived and farmed in the Phlox, Clintonville, and Bear Creek area most of his life. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Ruth; a daughter, Ruth Kathrine Booher, New London; a son, George (Judi) Kunnanz, Clintonville; seven grandchildren: Judy (Ed) Coonen; Jeanette (Jim) Klundt; James Booher; June (Pete) Olson; Joyce (Chris) Eaton; Peter (Becky) Kunnanz, and Laura (Gerald) Peeters. 17 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends further survive George. Besides his parents, George is preceded in death by four sisters, two brothers, a great grandson and a son-in-law, Elwood Booher. Funeral Mass for George will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London with Fr. David Lewis officiating. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London on Friday from 4-7 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Nurse Kaylee, Dr. Misty Johnson, Dr. Yacomb and Nurse Randy.
