Gerald "Jerry" Goetsch, 66, of Waupaca, died at home on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in New London on July 16, 1944 to the late Clifford "Sam" and Mabel (Impelman) Goetsch. Jerry lived his entire childhood in Weyauwega. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force, joining the armed forces when he was only 18 years old. After the service, he was employed as a carpenter in the San Francisco area and returned to Weyauwega in 1975 to help his father Sam Goetsch in his silo un-loader and barn cleaning business. In 1977, Jerry and business partner, Mike Jansen, started Hillside Farm Supply, they closed the business in 1997. Jerry was an independent salesman for Cleary Buildings, until his retirement in March 2007. Jerry was a dedicated member of the Weyauwega Fremont Lions Club for more than 30 years and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca. Jerry enjoyed golf, vacationing in Mexico, playing with his grandchildren and watching the Sci-fi channel. Jerry will be fondly remembered as a person who liked to lend a helping hand to others; he always had a big smile on his face and loved to have a good time. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 31 years, Sharon Goetsch of Waupaca; two daughters: Michelle (Tony) Anselmo, Portland, OR; Haley Goetsch, Arcata, CA; two step-sons: Mark (Pam) Everts, Plano, TX; Dan (Jacci) Everts, Waupaca. Jerry is the proud grandfather of Sonja Goetsch Avila, Isabella Anselmo, Lily & Sophie Everts, and Ryan & Colin Everts. He is further survived by his brothers, Fred (Darlene) Goetsch, Russell (Janet) Goetsch, Daniel Goetsch, sister, Sharon (Jack) Wohlt, sisters-in-law, Betty Roman, Carol (Dan) Bean, brother-in-law Larry Winske, nieces and nephews: Bruce (Cheri) Goetsch, Amy (Carey) Simpson, Lori (Ben) Bodoh, Bridgette (Rick) Hardin, Brett (Tammy) Goetsch, Barry Goetsch, Megan Goetsch, Justin Goetsch, Angie (LeRoy) Borntrager, Travis Lankford, Steve Roman, Tom (Denise) Roman, Deb Roman, Teri Roman, Mike Roman, Kendra Bean, Derek Bean, 20 great nieces, nephews and many friends in Weyauwega and Waupaca. His parents preceded him in death. The funeral service for Jerry will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca with Rev. Dr. Charles Tews officiating. Friends may call at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Weyauwega on Monday, September 27, 2010 from 4-8 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
