Gertrude E. Ewert

Age 95, of Manawa, loving mother and special friend to many, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at Bethany Home in Waupaca where she was a resident for the past 8 years. She was born on December 15, 1913 in the Town of Little Wolf, daughter of the late John and Myrtle Lindow. On April 2, 1945 she married Harven Ewert in San Luis Obispo, CA. while he was serving in the U.S. Air Force. After 20 years he retired and they moved to Manawa in 1964. Gertrude worked for the Manawa Advocate and was an Avon representative for many years. She was a member of the Manawa United Methodist Church and active in numerous church and community functions. She is survived by a daughter: Alice (Bob) Beversdorf, Cherry Valley, IL; a son: William J. Ewert, Goodlettsville,TN. She is further survived by many cousins and very special friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harven "Bill" Ewert. The funeral service for Gert will be held on Monday, June 8, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Manawa United Methodist Church in Manawa with Rev. Dale Eggert officiating. Burial will be in Little Wolf Cemetery in Manawa. Friends may call at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa on Sunday from 4-6 p.m. and at the church on Monday 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
