Grace Fahser

Grace C. Fahser, age 89, of Manawa, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at the Manawa Community Nursing Center. She was born on March 12, 1933 in Marion, daughter of the late Arthur and Ella (Gast) Schwede. She graduated from Marion High School in 1951. After graduation she worked for the Clintonville Transfer Lines until her marriage to Marvin Fahser on May 15, 1954. Grace then worked for the Red Owl store until she raised her five children. She worked at the Manawa/Marion Veterinary Clinic for over thirty years retiring in 2004. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa.

Survivors include her children: Cindy Fahser, Eau Claire; Jack (Rachael) of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina; James of Cudahy; John and special friend Tracy of Slinger and Jeff of Fremont; grandchildren: Emily Hintzman, Spokane, Washington; Erin (Adam) Zejdlik, Grand Forks, North Dakota; Andrew Hintzman, Menomonie; Jesica (Ivan) Aranda, Madison; great-grandchildren: Weston and Fiona Zejdlik, Grand Forks, North Dakota; sisters: Nila Ewald and June (Larry) Ochowski. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Besides her parents and husband Marvin in 2007, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Lynn Schwede and Ken Schwede; sister-in-law: Carla (Pipe) Schwede; brothers-in-law: Kenneth Fahser and Don Ewald; father-in-law and mother-in-law Robert and Lydia Fahser; a niece Jill and a nephew Scott.

The funeral service for Grace will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 at noon with Rev. Nathan Reichle officiating. Burial will be in Little Wolf Cemetery in the Town of Little Wolf. A visitation for Grace will be held at the church on Friday from 10:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. Memorials may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church and School.
