Harold Jensen

83, of Sun City Center, FL, passed away October 9, 2011. He was born December 3, 1927, in Manawa, Wisconsin to the late Edwin and Elsie(Voss) Jensen and lived there until graduation from high school. He attended college at the University of Wisconsin in Madison and later in Chicago and Milwaukee. As a young man he had many jobs from factory worker, bakery, cab driver, to bank work in Chicago. He started his US Postal career in Chicago from which he later transferred to Milwaukee and retired after years of service there. His early retirement years were spent in Milwaukee and Manawa. In 2000 he moved to Sun City Center, Florida and spent his summers in Manawa. Harold loved to travel and set foot on 5 continents. Rio, Brazil and Australia were 2 of his favorite places along with Japan and Russia. He visited all 50 states and had many good travel partners. His last years he enjoyed many sailings on cruise ships in the Caribbean Sea with his Florida friends. Travel and making visits to fitness centers and to local casinos were later years activities, along with playing cards with relatives. He was preceded in death by father Edwin R. Jensen and mother Elsie(Voss) Jensen. He is survived by his sister Rita (Everett) Schefelker, Manawa, WI; sister Sylvia Wenaas , Manawa, WI; three nephews, Rev. Perry (Diane) Schefelker, Centralia, IL; Jeffrey (Joanne) Schefelker, Black River Falls, WI; Russell Schefelker, Menomonee Falls, WI; and a niece Judy (Don) Daley, Muskego, WI along with many special friends in Wisconsin and Florida. Harold was a lifetime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Manawa, WI. Visitation will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on October 29, 2011, at 10:00 a. m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a. m. Internment will be at Little Wolf Cemetery.
