Hazel Jahsman, Appleton, age 89, formerly of Manawa, passed away at Rennes Health Center on Thursday, July 12, 2018 following a brief illness. She was born August, 10, 1928 in Manawa to Walter and Loraine (Prellwitz) Flater. Hazel lived in Manawa most of her life, graduating from Little Wolf High School in 1946. She married Earl Jahsman on August 31, 1946 at Zion Lutheran Church, Manawa. Hazel waitressed at Mundinger’s Restaurant, Manawa and was a well-known seamstress in Manawa and surrounding area.
Hazel is survived by her children, Helen (Robert) Lorenzen, Wautoma; Gloria (Ted) Stinski, Surprise AZ.; Douglas (Kim) Jahsman, Appleton. She is further survived by 3 grandchildren, Stefanie (Robert) Schwandt, Juneau; Stacy Kroes, Appleton and Christopher (Shannon) Jahsman, Ripon, along with 5 great grandchildren, Chrystyan Woyak, Kristina (Cpl. Dylan) Kraemer, Alicia Aguilera, Tamara Waldrop and Brayden Schwandt. She is also survived by 2 brothers: Robert (Karon) Flater; Donald (Evelyn) Flater and 2 sisters; Ramona Bahrke and Susan Speerstra along with many nieces and nephews.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband Earl, her parents, a brother, Roger Flater and a sister Marion Neuman.
Funeral services for Hazel will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Manawa with the Rev. Vilas Mazemke officiating. Burial will be at Little Wolf Cemetery, Manawa. Visitation for Hazel will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
