Irma L. Zabel

Irma Laura Zabel, age 87, Town of Lind, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Bethany Home in Waupaca. She was born in Poy Sippi on April 2, 1934, daughter of the late William and Laura (Hartfiel) Bachmann. Irma graduated from Weyauwega High School. On November 29, 1952, she was united in marriage to Jerome Zabel at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Weyauwega where she was a faithful member. He preceded her in death on February 9, 2016. Irma and Jerome farmed in the Town of Lind most of their lives. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and camping with Jerome at Rollingstone Lake Resort.

She is survived by her son Duane Zabel; sister: Betty Nehring; brother-in-law: Carlton (Diane) Zabel. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law: Calvin Nehring, Gordon (Carol) Zabel and Virgil Zabel.

The Christian Funeral for Irma will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Weyauwega with Rev. Aaron Kristopeit officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Weyauwega. A visitation for Irma will held at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m until the time of the service.
