Age 59, of Manawa, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Appleton Medical Center in Appleton, WI. She was born on April 22, 1952, in New London, WI, the daughter of the late Norman (Pete) and Beatrice (Meidam) Starchaska. Jan worked in Embarrass at the Hair Connection, Adaila's in Clintonville, and in Manawa at Styles II and Mr. Richards as a beautician. Jan enjoyed being in her kitchen cooking and baking. She also enjoyed working the farm and visiting with friends and neighbors. And every fall she looked forward to making wreaths with her sister and their great team of employees. Janice is survived by her buddy and fiancé of 23 years, Dale R. Johnson; sister, Mary (Bruce) Krenke; two nieces, Ashley and Amber Krenke; aunts, uncles, and cousins; Dale's children Melissa (David) Konichek, Robert (Renee) Johnson; grandchildren, Amanda, Melinda, and Robert A. Johnson, James (Becca) and McKayla Hill; step-grandchildren, Tessa, Melissa R, Rebekah and Ruth Konichek, and Elisabeth (Joe) Halle; great-grandchild, Rylee Hill; and special pets, Hunter and Chase. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Norman (Pete) and Beatrice Starchaska, numerous aunts, uncles, cousin, and two favorite pets Max and Jake. The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at AMC, St. Joseph's Recovery Health, and Koeppen's for your care, kindness, and time. We always had a peace knowing she was in good hands. A funeral service for Janice will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home, with Rev. Vilas Mazemke officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 4 until 7 p.m. and again Wednesday afternoon, from 12:00 noon, until the time of service. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Town of Union, at a later date.
