Devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, relative and friend, passed into eternal life on Sunday, December 28, 2008. Jean was born on Sunday, February 15, 1925 in Waupaca to AC and Mabel (Nelson) Stearns. She was baptized on Easter Sunday, April 4, 1926. She graduated from Waupaca High School in 1942. Jean and Leonard Harvey Reek were married on April 21, 1943 in Pomona, California. They celebrated 65 years together in April of this year. She was a faithful servant to the Lord and was a long time member of St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Weyauwega. Jean spent her life in loving care of her husband and family, and always putting them first. She enjoyed many years of travel and camping with Len, snowmobiling with friends, reading, sewing, crocheting, long Sunday drives exploring the by-ways of the area, and spending time with family. She is much loved and greatly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her companion, friend and love Leonard, Jean is lovingly remembered by her four daughters: Carole (Garrett) Nemec; Bonita (Stephen) Timm; Gwendolyn (Michael) O'Donnell; Marcia Harris; grandchildren: Chad (Diana), Todd (Erin), Craig, Elizabeth, Trevor (Jeannie), Jassmin, Jordan, Elgin, Jean, Alexanna and Morgan; great-grandchildren: Luke, Cassidy, Elliana, Taylin, Daniel, Lauren, Turner, Celia, Kevin, Justin and Ashlynn; sister: Lois Pozolinski; brother: William Stearns; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Ruth Reek and two grandsons Sean Tedesko and Brandon Timm. The Christian Funeral for Jean will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Weyauwega with Rev. Dennis Lemke officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Weyauwega. Friends may call directly at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for St. Peter Lutheran Church Building on the Rock Fund. Psalm 73: 23-26 Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
