John A. Young Sr.

John Alva Young, 79 passed away peacefully in his sleep Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at the Weyauwega Health Care Center, Weyauwega, WI where he had been a resident for the last eight years. He was born June 26, 1932, in Pigeon, MI the fifth of five children of Arthur and Minni (Bell) Young. He grew up on the farm in Pigeon and continued his passion of dairy farming most of his life. He married Patricia Hebert on July 14, 1951, in Caseville, MI. John enjoyed playing cards and dominos, teasing his grandchildren and making a good cattle deal. He is survived by: his sister, Audrey and her husband Robert McBride of Mt. Morris , MI and sister-in-law Helen Young, Pigeon, MI; nine children, John (Charyl) Young, Weyauwega, WI; Jim (Mel) Young, Brunswick, GA; Mike (Toni) Young, Ocala, FL; Dennis (Ruth)Young, Newport, MI; Marlin (Maria) Young, Carrollton, TX; Irene Young, Cass City, MI; Lee (Kim) Young, Weyauwega, WI; Cheryl (Bill) Bennett, Minden City, WI and Lisa (Eusebio Jr.) Saldana, DeForest, WI; 26 grandchildren and 37 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife on November 9, 2005, his parents, three brothers - Gordon, George and Clayton, a sister, Betty and a grandson Mathew Young. A funeral Mass is planned for Friday, May 4, 2012, at 12:30 pm at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Weyauwega, WI. Visitation is at the church Friday from 10:30 am until the time of the funeral.
