Karen Drozd-Bartelt, age 49, of Manawa, passed away on the evening of Thursday, July 28, 2016 unexpectedly in her sleep of natural causes. She was born on January 12, 1967, in Racine to John A. Drozd and Linda L. Petz. Karen graduated from high school in Racine, Wisconsin. She was a motorcycle enthusiast most of her life enjoying the ride. Mom always said her life is a story with many tales. She was a loving mother to all her children, biological or otherwise. A woman with a huge heart whose compassion will live on with all those who remain. She put the needs of others before her own, with some time off in between.
She is survived by her children: Justin (Brittany) Drozd, Stephen J. Feest, Kaitlin M. Feest (Kyle Kleczka), Shane M. Marquardt, Thomas J. Bartelt; her grandson Leon M. Drozd; she is further survived by her former husband Rick Bartelt, loving partner Ray Lionberg, siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death her father John Drozd, sister Barbara Tully, and Mike Krachtt.
Private family services will be held but a public gathering of family and friends to celebrate Karen’s life will take place on Friday, August 5, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be appreciated.
