Kathleen K. Mellen

Kathleen K. Mellen, age 88, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024 at Crossroads Care Center of Weyauwega. She was born at home in Weyauwega on December 3, 1935, daughter of the late John and Rebecca Loss. 

Kathleen lived most of her life in the Weyauwega area, and graduated from Weyauwega High School in 1954. On June 2, 1956, Kathleen was united in marriage to Melvin Mellen. They owned and operated the family dairy farm until retiring in 1973. Kathleen and Melvin then traveled and lived out west for several years, before returning to the Weyauwega area in the early 1980's. Kathleen loved the outdoors and nature. Her favorite hobbies included reading, writing, and painting.

Kathleen is survived by her sister, Mary Hoeft; niece, Barbara (Tim) Olsen and family; nephew, Dale (Marilyn) Schwanke and family; nephew, Jim Schwanke.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brother-in-law, Donald Hoeft; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Marvin and Loraine Schwanke.

According to Kathleen's wishes, no services will be held. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Weyauwega. Dahlke Funeral & Cremation Care of Weyauwega is serving the family.
