We lost our beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend on Tuesday, May 25, 2021. He was 19.
Lane was born November 1, 2001 to Hans and Melissa Kreklow, joining big sister Claire to make a family of four. Raised primarily in the country near Manawa, Lane loved and enjoyed many childhood hours with cousins playing in tree forts at Honey and Papa’s, spending time on the farm with grandma and up north on Pike Lake.
Lane attended school in Manawa and graduated from Little Wolf High School in 2020. He proudly played drums in the LWHS marching band. He played baseball, football, and bowled for the Wolves. During his summers, Lane enjoyed competing, along with his dad, in tractor pulls around the state. One of their favorite weekends was the annual Union Thresheree held in Symco. He also enjoyed cutting hay on his uncle’s farm in rural Marion.
Lane liked to hunt and fish. He was an avid trap shooter and enjoyed the card playing and camaraderie of many friends at the Manawa Fish and Game Club. Lane was a gamer, not only enjoying video games, but board games as well. He loved Dungeons and Dragons, playing many hours with a group of like-minded friends. During holidays, Lane loved board games with family members, young and old. He loved to travel, especially hiking the Red Rocks in Sedona.
Lane is survived by his parents, Hans and Melissa (Seibel) Kreklow and his loving sister, Claire. He is survived by many aunts, uncles, great aunts and uncles, and cousins that will miss him dearly. He also leaves his two dogs, Kobe and Ollie.
Lane was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Lois Kreklow, his grandmother, Justine Sasse, and great grandmother, Jannette Borlen.
We are so sad that you left us too soon, our beautiful kind-souled young man. We will miss your wonderful crooked smile. Pieces of all our hearts are going with you. Your selfless act as an organ donor is a powerful legacy and makes you our hero.
We love you Lane.
A private family service will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 with a Celebration of Life service to be scheduled later in the summer. Memorials may be sent to: The Family of Lane Kreklow c/o Cline-Hanson-Dahlke PO Box 290 Manawa, WI 54949.
