Leona M. Bartel

98, passed away on Friday, October 06, 2006 at St. Joseph Residence in New London. Leona was born on February 3, 1908 in Jackson, Wisconsin daughter of the late Louis and Anna (Wohldt) Liesener. Leona married Alfred Bartel in Milwaukee in 1941. He preceded her in death in 1964. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa. She is survived by her daughter Barbara (Bill) Jaeger, New London; two sons: Kenneth (Judy) Bartel, Symco and James (Judith) Bartel, Merrill. Nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. A sister in-law Gerta Liesener, Boulder Junction. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers Arnold Liesener and Rev. Marcus Liesener. Funeral services for Leona will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at 1:00p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Manawa with Pastor Wally Waite officiating. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery in Symco. Friends may call directly at the church on Tuesday from 11:00a.m. until the time of service.
