Leslie E. Rudie

Age 80, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at the Manawa Community Nursing Center following a brief illness. He was born on May 1, 1928 in Sheboygan, son of the late Edwin and Amanda Rudie. On July 23, 1949 he married Ann Klinker at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Neenah. Leslie served his country with the U.S. Air Force. He attended school at Spartan School of Aeronautics. He was employed at Kimberly Clark until retiring in 1985. Leslie and Ann Lived in Neenah until moving to Manawa in 1989. He enjoyed flying, motorcycles and traveling. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manawa. He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Ann; a son: Kevin (Mary) Rudie, Tampa, Florida; two brothers: Sterling (Mary Lou) Rudie, New London; Iver (Diane) Rudie, New London; three sisters: Betty (LeRoy) Jensen, Waupaca; Faith (Duane) Brown, New London; June (Duane) Kaepernick, Appleton. He is further survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, and his special family Debbie and Doug Draeger. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother David. The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manawa with Fr. Bertin Samsa OFM Cap officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
