Linda M. Starks

Following a long illness, Linda Merry Starks of Weyauwega, passed away peacefully in her home as she was surrounded by her family. Linda was born in Lake Port, California on September 26, 1949. She is survived by her husband, James Starks, her son, Chad Surritte and daughter-in-law Tina Surritte of Parker, Colorado, step-daughter Tasha Griesbach and her husband Dennis Griesbach of New London, WI, step-son Jason Starks of Weyauwega, Brian Starks and daughter-in-law Darcie Starks of New London, WI. Grandchildren: Sadie Surritte, Dawn Proctor, Heather Magor, Justin Starks, Derrek Starks, Devon Starks, Curtis Much, Christopher Much, Austin Surritte, and Marissa Surritte. Great Grandchildren Carson Starks, Cylus Magor, Peyton Starks, and Adalynn Much.

She is also survived by her sisters Karen Wooten, Sharon White, and brother David E. Williams. Linda was preceded in death by her father James W. Lehmann, mother Barbara Jean Read, her step-father, Willis Eugene Williams, her half-brother James Lehmann, and her son Michael John Surritte.

Linda was an avid bowler, softball player and coach. She also served as a career military wife with her husband Jim. Her love of cooking and serving people was exhibited by ownership of Duckie’s Pine Café in downtown Weyauwega. She was famous for her coffee and her homemade biscuits and gravy and of course her gingerbread cookies!

Linda was a member of Faith Christian Church located in New London, WI. Celebration of Life will be scheduled sometime at a future date.
