age 74, of Manawa passed away Saturday December 29, 2007 at Appleton Medical Center. Lloyd was born January 3, 1933 in New London, son of the late Ferdinand and Bertha (Drath) Schimke. Lloyd served his country in the US. Army during the Korean War (1952-1953). On October 15, 1955 he married Irene M. Peterson. She preceded him in death October 3, 1999. Lloyd lived in the Manawa area and had been employed at Wolf River Sausage Co. in Weyauwega and Fliteway in Manawa until his retirement. He then worked for various car dealerships driving cars back from auctions. Lloyd had a true passion for driving around to pass the time. His basic route was Big Falls, Ogdensburg and Manawa. Just about every day he would drive by all his kids' homes to check upon everyone. He would really have been lost without his car. Survivors include his children: Steve (Alane) Schimke, Sue (Jim) Krause, Jay (Kathy) Schimke and Lee Schimke all of Manawa. 5 grandchildren: Mindy and Dusty Schimke; Dylan Krause; Andy Schimke; Kyle Schimke; a great granddaughter: Anessa; 2 sisters-in-law: Dorothy (George) Nelson and Vivian Losselyong; 2 brothers-in-law: Jim (Ihla) Peterson; Harlan Ferg; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, a daughter, Lori, a brother, Norman; 3 sisters: Angeline Krake, Elenor Krueger, Grandy Ferg; 3 brothers-in-law: Ray Krake, Ervin Krueger, Don Losselyong; a sister-in-law: Edna Schimke. The funeral service for Lloyd will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday January 2, 2008 at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa with Rev. Barry Hoerz officiating. Burial will be in Little Wolf Cemetery, Manawa. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
