Lola Hartfiel, age 94, passed away peacefully on Good Friday, April 2, 2021. She was born October 23, 1926 in the town of Weyauwega to the late Arthur and Alice (Guyant) Kriese. Lola was confirmed May 18, 1941 at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran church and her confirmation verse was: “God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.” She was a graduate of Weyauwega High School, Class of 1945. After her graduation she worked at the Wisconsin Michigan Power Company in Appleton until her marriage. Lola married Henry Hartfiel on June 14, 1947 at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church and were blessed with 58 years together. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting afghans, playing cards and volunteering at her church and the Weyauwega Health Care Center.
Lola is survived by her three children and their families: James (Lynn) Hartfiel, Hortonville; Larry Hartfiel (Chris), Weyauwega; Judy (Dan) Fox, Appleton; nine grandchildren: Troy (Shannon), Curtis (Christy), Brett, Andee, Casey, Mitchell (Heidi), and Tana (Mike) Hartfiel; Emily and Matthew Fox; four great grandchildren: Hayden, Kaylee, Harper and Jackson Hartfiel; one sister-in-law, Lillian Wendt of Weyauwega; as well as by many nieces and nephews.
Lola was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry; two infant daughters, Barbara and Jane; her brother, Borden Kriese; her granddaughter, Erin Hartfiel; and many sisters and brothers-in-law.
A private family service will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, 312 W. Main Street, Weyauwega with Pastor Aaron Kristopeit officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery, Weyauwega. Memorial gifts may be made to St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church, Weyauwega.
