Age 84, of Manawa, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was called by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to her heavenly home on Sunday, August 22, 2010. She was born on March 1, 1926 in the Town of St. Lawrence, daughter of the late Elmer and Clara (Gregorius) Bonikowske. Lucille lived in the Ogdensburg-Manawa area her entire life. On June 1, 1946, she was united in marriage to Benjamin Ferg. Together they farmed, where they raised their family. Ben preceded her in death in 2003. Lucille worked at various professions during her lifetime, the last being the secretary at Little Wolf High School for over 34 years. After her retirement she volunteered as a teacher's assistant at St. Paul's Lutheran School in Manawa in servitude to the Lord. She was an active member at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa serving with the Ladies Aid for many years. She was also active with the Manawa Modern Homemakers and Senior Citizens. Her joys in life included knitting, crocheting, tatting, reading, cooking and entertaining family and friends. Her joyful spirit will always live on with her family. She is survived by her children: Carson (Marcia) Ferg, Manawa; Barbara (Russ) Castner, Wild Rose; Dale (Nancy) Ferg, Ogdensburg; grandchildren: Michelle (Chris) Widolff, Melinda (Chad) Mc Clellan, Ben (Danielle) Castner, Matt Castner, Tim (Elizabeth) Castner, Cathy (Jake) Seifert, Lea (Jonathan) Plunkett, Lana (Jason) Klotzbuecher, Robert Ferg; great grandchildren: McKenzie, Gavin, Chase, Luke, Zachary, Skyla, Olivia, Nobly- Dei, Noahlee, Logan, Kloe, Lexi, baby Klotzbuecher and baby Plunkett; brothers: Robert (Eloyious) Bonikowske, David (Margaret) Bonikowske, Roger (Betty) Bonikowske and Melvin (Ann) Bonikowske; sisters-in-law: Lois Glocke and Viola Raasch; an aunt: Edna Alft. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister Jeanette Hein, an infant brother and a sister-in-law. The funeral service for Lucille will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa with Rev. Vilas Mazemke officiating. Burial will be in Little Wolf Cemetery in the Town of Little Wolf. Friends may call at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa on Friday, August 27, 2010 from 4-8 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Lucille's wish was to have memorials directed to St. Paul Lutheran School. The family would like to thank Theda Care Hospice and all the family and friends for their care and concern of Lucille.
