Lucille M. Roberts

Age 90, New London, formerly of Weyauwega, passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2013, at Lakeview Manor in Weyauwega. Lucille was born on December 21, 1922, in Weyauwega, daughter of the late John and Kathryn (Wilcox) Claassen. While attending Weyauwega High School, she was involved in band playing the French horn winning many awards and graduating in 1940. On October 13, 1949 she was united in marriage to Francis J. Roberts Sr. He preceded her in death on February 22, 1999. Lucille cleaned homes and offices in the New London area for years but had a passion for providing childcare in her home, along with raising her three children. She is survived by her children: Beth (Fred) Feyen and a grandson Jason Luft; Bonnie (Karl) Arps, Joe Roberts and his fiancée Patty Frank. She is also survived by her sister Audrey (Larry) Butalla, brother, Keith (Linda) Claassen, sister-in-law Shirley Claassen and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Lucille was preceded in death by her brothers Ken and Arden, her sisters Ruth and Delores. Private services were held with Pastor Bill Bartel officiating. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Lakeview Manor for their care and compassion of our mother. You dubbed her Lucy; we know you all loved Lucy.
