Lyla J. Buckholt, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Crossroads Care Center in Weyauwega. She was born in the Town of Wyoming, Waupaca County, daughter of the late Floyd and Irene (Mosher) Harris on September 20, 1935. She graduated from Waupaca High School with the Class of 1953. She was united in marriage to Gerald Buckholt Sr. on November 13, 1954. They were married 61 years before he preceded her in death on September 26, 2016. She worked at Presto Products in Weyauwega. Lyla loved her flower beds, going to the casino and traveling. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
She is survived by her children: Barb Balthazor and Gerald Buckholt Jr.; grandchildren: Ryan (Kim), Theresa (Eric), Jason (Jessica), Heather (Nick), Daniel (Debra), Amy (Mike), Jesse (Jessica), Merri and Zuri; also several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Sherry (Richard) Hunkins, Brenda (Kenneth) Batten, Taffy (Harold) Morgan and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son Dennis; her siblings and spouses: Mildred (Abe) Batten, Eileen (Loryn) Harris, Ellen (Donald) Olson, Willard (Paula) Harris and Floyd Harris; and son-in-law: Michael Balthazor.
A memorial service for Lyla will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Life Celebration Center of Weyauwega with Rev. Pam Ritchie officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Celebration Center from 9:00 a.m until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
