Matthew T. Erickson

Matthew Tyler Erickson, age 30, of Weyauwega, died tragically by drowning on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, trying to save his dog Brookie. He was born on December 22, 1989, in New London, son of Ross Erickson and Kathryn Kaminske. Matt attended Weyauwega-Fremont Schools, and then later received his high school equivalent diploma. He loved animals, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was always willing to help others and did so even in death by donating his tissue to those in need. He loved spending time with family and friends especially his niece, and nephews. Matt worked construction for over 10 years, most recently with Matt Strasse. He will always be remembered for his smile.

He is survived by his parents: Kathryn Kaminske; Ross Erickson; maternal grandmother: Elaine Kaminske; paternal grandmother: Ella May Erickson; siblings: Cody (Tiffany) Kaminske, Trevor Erickson and special friend Sam, Kaeley Erickson; niece: Annabella Kaminske; two nephews: Aiden and Ryan Bauer. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Emil Kaminske; paternal grandfather, Donald Erickson; three uncles: Jerry Kaminske, Roy Kaminske and Rodney Erickson.

Private graveside services will be held for Matthew but a Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date.
