Manawa, died Friday, April 4, 2008, at the Manawa Community Nursing Center. He was 83 years old. A son of the late Louie and Regina (Bock) Fahser, he was born August 10, 1924, at his family home in Symco. On September 1, 1945, he married Doris Smith, at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Symco. She survives. Mr. Fahser owned and operated a dairy farm in the Symco area. In addition, he drove a cattle truck, grew and sold vegetables (sweet corn and tomatoes), and drove a school bus for the Manawa School District. During his retirement he was well known for buying, repairing, and selling bicycles. He was a life-long member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Symco. Mr. Fahser enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, going to rummage sales, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandson. In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Sharon (Mitchell) Zmuda, Antigo, and Barbara (Jim) Quinn, Manawa; five grandchildren, Tanya (Brook) Wright, Tara Zmuda, Amber Quinn, Adam Quinn (Ashley Spiegelberg, fiancé), and Aaron Quinn; and a great grandson, Gabriel Wright. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at St. Marks Lutheran Church, Symco. Rev. Jeff Smiles will officiate. Burial will be in the Little Creek Cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
