Age 84, of Weyauwega, died on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah. He was born on March 12, 1923 in Waupaca, son of the late Alvin & Elizabeth (Peterson) Faulks. At the age of 12, Oliver was the prime contractor when he and his brothers Syd and Lewellyn built a house for their mother. He was a licensed cheese maker at the age of 16. Oliver served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force Air Transport Command during World War II with the rank of Sergeant. He was stationed in Italy, North Africa, Germany, Bahrain Island, Egypt, France, Arabia and Greece, earning 3 service medals. On October 12, 1947, he married Gladys Schellin at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Weyauwega. Oliver co-founded Faulks Bros. Construction, Inc. in 1946 with his brother Sydney, and worked until his retirement in 1980. Oliver was an avid fisherman and hunter, sharing his time outdoors with his son-in-laws, grandsons, and numerous friends and buddies. He especially enjoyed doing projects in his shop, and kept busy year-round in his woods. He was a charter and lifetime member of the Weyauwega VFW Post 10407, and Arndt-Bruley American Legion Post 176 of Weyauwega. He was a member of St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Weyauwega. Ollie would do anything for his family and friends. His kind heart will be dearly missed by all. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Gladys; 3 daughters: Marlene Holzhausen, Oshkosh; Kathleen (Chester) Gomoll, Oshkosh; Judy (Brian) Buchholz, Weyauwega; a son: Gary Faulks, Clintonville; 2 grandsons: Jason Gomoll, Oshkosh; Andrew Buchholz, Weyauwega; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother: Sydney (Ardys) Faulks, Weyauwega. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Oliver was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Lewellyn (Mary) Faulks, 10 step-brothers and sisters, and one son-in-law Glenn Holzhausen. The Christian Funeral for Oliver will be held on Monday, September 10, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Weyauwega with Rev. Robbin Robbert and Rev. Dennis Lemke officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Weyauwega where full military rites will be held. Friends may call at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Weyauwega on Sunday, September 9, 2007 from 3-7 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. A memorial fund has been established.
