Phyllis Jean Fields, age 85, of New London, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca. Phyllis was born in Black Creek on the Reihl family farm on January 27, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Mildred (Reihl) Schroeder. On July 7, 1956, she married Arthur Lemke Jr. They were married until his passing in November of 1983. On June 28, 1986, Phyllis married Clarence Fields. Phyllis worked at Riches Elm Tree in Appleton for 25 years. She had many fond memories of the friends she made while working there. The job that Phyllis most enjoyed was working as a Nurses Assistant at Appleton Medical Center and Theda Clark Regional Medical Center for many years. She loved her cats and just being outdoors. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Readfield.
Phyllis is survived by her husband Clarence; sons: Mike Lemke, Tim (Dawn) Lemke, Dan Lemke; daughters: Lou Ann (Dan) Hahn, Stacey (Pete) Lantvit, Jr.; nine grandchildren: Tracee (Roger) Hildrath, David (Stephanie) Lemke, Jessica (Nate) Hoff, Ryan Lemke (Kate Zank), Cory Lemke, Kristin Lemke, Max Lantvit, Nicholas (Ali) Hahn, and Michael Hahn; eleven great-grandchildren; brother: LaVern (Janice) Schroeder, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The Christian Funeral for Phyllis will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Readfield with Rev. Peter Kesting officiating. Burial will be in Ellington Union Cemetery in the Town of Ellington. A visitation for Phyllis will be held at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
The family would like to thank the staff at AMC, Bethany Nursing Home, Riverside emergency room staff and the hospice team for their loving care of Phyllis.
