Sgt. Randy W. Roloff, age 66 of Waupaca passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023 after a short battle with cancer. He was born on March 20, 1957 in New London, WI to Floyd and Dolores (Miller) Roloff.

Randy served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a part of the West 37, West 47, 9th Engineers, and the 1st LSB units. The Marines sparked his love for travelling by taking him to places like Japan, Somalia, Egypt, Germany, Spain, Canada, and multiple bases within the United States.

He continued his love of traveling by retiring to his RV to visit as many military bases and museums as possible, documenting every type of plane, tank, and artillery the US Military has. He loved to boast about how he had visited 49 U.S. states in one year. During his lifetime he was employed at Simmons Company, MCC Inc, Faulks Brothers Construction, and A-Z Machining, among others. He was also a volunteer fireman for the Town of Union and was a member of the volunteer ambulance service in Manawa.

Randy was a member of the Disabled Veterans and was the Commander of the Manawa American Legion post.

Randy graduated from Manawa Little Wolf High School in 1975. During high school he participated in football, basketball, wrestling, and baseball. He also played baseball on the Manawa City teams. He was an avid hunter and trapper and enjoyed spending time outside in nature. His family fondly remembers nights watching the stars and looking for satellites with him.

Randy enjoyed life to its fullest and he wanted everyone to know that if you ever want to see his private jet, you can go visit it at the Air Force Museum in Dayton, OH.

Randy is survived by his children; Katherine Hyland and her children Dakotah and Phoenix Braatz, Emylia and Makailyn Hyland all of Waupaca, Rebecca Lorge (Mike) and their children Skylar Hutchings and Ashton Lorge of Manawa, and Samuel and his children Grayson, Iversyn, and Monroe of Waupaca. Also survived by former spouses Deborah Sperberg of Waupaca and Amy Larson Roloff of Mosinee and siblings Dennis (Patti) Roloff of Waupaca and Lori (Dale) Gilbert of Manawa. He is also survived by various nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Dolores Roloff and son-in-law Samuel Hyland.

A celebration of life will be held for Randy around his birthday in March 2024.
