Raymond R. Stroik

Age 94 of Hatley, formerly of Franklin, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2011 at his daughter's residence. He was born on August 11, 1917 in Bevent, Wisconsin, son of the late Charles and Johanna (Witkowski) Stroik. On October 4, 1958, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Deusing in Milwaukee. Ray worked at Ladish Company in Franklin for 35 years, retiring in 1987. He was a lifelong farmer, and was proud of his family farm which had been in the family for over 100 years. He enjoyed ballroom dancing and had been a ballroom dance instructor. Ray also played concertina. He was a member of St. Ladislaus Catholic Church in Bevent, Wisconsin. He is survived by his children: Christine (Ron) Crosthwait, Peoria, AZ.; Murl Balistreri, Oklahoma; Marcella (Dan) Wentworth, Manawa; Alan Stroik, Redlands, CA.; Glen (Elizabeth) Stroik, Franklin; grandchildren: Joseph Balistreri, Justin, Johanna, Andrea and Charles Wentworth and Mason Stroik; brother: Edmund Stroik, Shawano. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Paul Stroik, brother Joseph Stroik, sisters Ann Coffman, Irene Miller and Marion Zygowicz. The Mass of Christian Burial for Raymond will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 5, 2011, at Saint Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent, WI (6455 State Road 153, Hatley, WI 54440) with Fr. Norman Boneck officiating. Family and friends may call directly at the church Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
