Robert J. (Bob) Zemple, age 77, of Manawa went to be with the Lord peacefully at his home Saturday December 16, 2006. He was born May 3, 1929 in the Town of Little Wolf, Waupaca County, son of the late Robert R. and Leola (Kottke) Zemple. He married Arlene Schroeder September 11, 1954. He has two sons, James (Gloria) Zemple of Manawa and Robert D. (Cindy) Zemple of Black Creek. Bob was a life long member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa and had served as the church secretary in the past. He farmed in the Town of Little Wolf, retiring from farming in 1996 and moved to Manawa. He was in the insurance business for 40 years, retiring in 2002. He was a Town of Little Wolf fireman for 35 years and served as fire chief for 15 years. He was a director of Dupont Mutual Insurance Company for 20 years, a director of the Little Wolf Cemetery Board for 21 years, and served as secretary of the former Stony Ridge Cheese Factory. Bob especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren's soccer games, sporting events and music concerts. He also liked spending time at the cottage at Land O' Lakes. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 52 years, Arlene; his children: James (Gloria) and Robert D. (Cindy); his three grandchildren: Robert P. Zemple IV, Rebekah and Benjamin Zemple; a brother-in-law: Clarence (Diann) Schroeder, Clintonville; nieces: Jan Hurst and Jeri Loyanchan, California; other nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Marian; two brothers-in-law: William Schuessler, Melvin Schroeder, and an infant brother, David. The funeral service for Bob will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday December 19, 2006 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa with Rev. H. William Jordan and Rev. John Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in Little Wolf Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa on Monday (today) from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday at the church from noon until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church. Bob's family would like to thank the Dialysis Center and Dialysis Care of Waupaca and also Theda Care at Home Hospice for their kindness and care. I have fought a good fight.
