Roger Howard Klinger

May 2, 1937 — February 9, 2014

Age 76, of Manawa, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca. He was born on May 2, 1937 in Manawa, son of the late Howard and Ruby (Nordholz) Klinger. Roger graduated from Little Wolf High School. On June 2, 1960, he was united in marriage to Barb Taggart at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Symco. She preceded him in death on June 28, 2003. Roger worked for the Waupaca County Highway Department for 44 years, retiring in January 2003. He was an avid hunter and fisherman enjoying his trips to Canada and his cottage up north. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa. He is survived by his children: Sherry (Jack) Hodel, Debra (Todd) Niemuth and John (Tammy) Klinger, all of Manawa; grandchildren: Michael Hodel and his fiancé Amanda; Kimberly Hodel; Bryn Niemuth; Britney (Justin) Riesenberg; Mia and Jed Klinger; great-grandchildren: Addisyn and Jax. He is further survived by a cousin Carolyn Kocian, also other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, also his beloved Hooter. A memorial service for Roger will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa with Rev. Vilas Mazemke officiating. A gathering of family and friends will take place directly at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials are preferred to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
