Rosetta Pethke

Age 77, passed away following a courageous battle with cancer, with her family by her side, on Friday, November 14, 2008 at St. Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point. She was born on February 19, 1931, in the Town of Little Wolf, Waupaca County, daughter of the late Earl and Eva (Terrio) Phelps. On June 17, 1950, she married Melvin Pethke at the Iola Methodist Church. Following their marriage, they lived on a farm in the Town of Helvetia. They then moved to the Manawa area in 1956. She was a secretary for Farmway from 1955-1966. After raising her family she worked at the Iola Herald from 1987-2008. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Manawa and their Ladies Aid and was also the secretary at the church from 1971-1985. She was co/owner with her husband of Pet-Key Enterprises. She was co-chairman of the Manawa Blood Mobile. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, ceramics, gardening, cooking and traveling. Rosetta was a very loving and generous person. She loved her family and grandchildren very much. She is survived by her husband Melvin; two daughters: Ruth (Dan) Hanson, Sharon (Mark) Seeger; a son: Steve (Tammy) Pethke; grandchildren: Matt (Jenny) Buchholz, Christy (Tim) Waldorf, Beth (Lee) Brendlmuehl, Tom (Bridget) Seeger, Joe (Erin) Seeger, Jesse (Tasha) Seeger, Zachary and Megan Pethke; great-grandchildren: Jack Seeger and Mason Waldorf. She is further survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews other relatives and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister. The funeral service for Rosetta will be held on Monday, November 17, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Manawa with Rev. Blaine Niskanen officiating. Burial will be in Little Wolf Cemetery in the Town of Little Wolf. Friends may call at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
