Ruth Pearson

June 18, 1914 — June 20, 2006

formerly of Red Granite and Weyauwega died Tuesday June 20, 2006 at Bethany Home in Waupaca. She was born June 18, 1914 in Weyauwega, daughter of the late Charles and Ruby (Holman) Petersen. On December 5, 1939 she married Corrin Mortenson. They lived two years in Iola before moving to Weyauwega. He preceded her in death November 11, 1957. On May 3, 1962 Ruth married Emil Pearson and moved to Red Granite. He preceded her in death in November of 2003. She had been a resident of Bethany Home in Waupaca since November of 2001. She was a former member of First Presbyterian Church in Weyauwega and presently a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Wautoma. Ruth enjoyed antiquing, flea markets, painting, reading and writing. She wrote many articles for the Oshkosh Daily Northwestern. She was a member of Rural Rembrandt's in Wautoma. She is survived by three daughters: Julie (Walter) Schmidt, Waupaca; Maren (Oscar) Knoeck, Appleton; Jean (Fred) Hofmann, Lodi; two sons: Chuck Mortenson, Chris (Sandy) Mortenson, both of Oshkosh; a daughter-in-law: Maggie Mortenson, Oshkosh; her grandchildren: Roberta (Jeff) Zimmer, Arlington, MA; Deanna (Carl) Tucker, Fort Lee, VA; Leah Schmidt, Acton, MA; Paul (Lisa) Mortenson, Madison; Patti Mortenson and fiancé Ralph, Oshkosh; Steven Mortenson, Oshkosh; Joel Mortenson, Neenah, Christopher George, Appleton; Brian (Jen) George, Madison; Kacie Nickel, Oshkosh; Erin Hofmann, Chicago; Britta Hofmann, Madison; eight great grandchildren; her sister: Janet Wohlt, Weyauwega; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by two sisters: Alice and Marian, and a brother Charles. A Memorial Service for Ruth will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday June 23, 2006 at First Presbyterian Church in Weyauwega with Rev. Dale Hanaman officiating. Her cremated remains will be buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Weyauwega. Relatives and friends may call directly at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service
