Steven A. Ladubec

Steven A. Ladubec, age 63, of Weyauwega, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2023, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton surrounded by his loving family. Steve was born on November 5, 1960, the son of Albert and Gale Ladubec.

Steve made lasting friendships as a milk hauler for Star Dairy of Weyauwega. Steve was an avid fisherman. As a little boy, he sat on the banks of the Waupaca River for hours next to his grandma, as well as his dad who taught him how to fish. He knew every spot on the Wolf River. He loved walleye fishing with his brother, Don. His great sadness was when he could no longer launch his boat and go fishing on his own. As he grew older, he developed a passion for musky fishing with his brother, his son, and his nephews. Boys week up north was always a special time for him. Fishing wasn't a hobby; it was a way of life for him. The trips to Canada with family, as well as trips to the Chippewa and Turtle Flambeau Flowages, were highlights for Steve during his life.

He is survived by his mother, Gale; brother, Don (Theresa) Ladubec; sisters: Susan (Ray) Ruggiere, Nancy (Pat) Gorchals, Mary Kay Beuthin. He is further survived by his son, Ben; his longtime partner, Terri, and her daughters, Jennifer and Valerie. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert.

Steve was a loving grandfather, a kind and gentle soul. He was loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins and Aunts Gerri Ladubec and Gwynn Schroeder.

A Prayer Service for Steve will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 10:45 AM at Ss Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Weyauwega, with Fr. Kris Mekala officiating. A gathering of family and friends will take place at the church prior to the service from 9:00 - 10:45 AM. A private family graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery will take place at a later date.
