Susan M. Cornelius

Susan Marie (Hein) Cornelius, age 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday, November 7, 2024. She was born on June 23, 1953, daughter of the late Marvin and Jeanette (Bonikowske) Hein. She was raised on the family farm in Manawa and graduated from Little Wolf High School.

Susie married the love of her life and beloved husband, David Cornelius of 33 years. Through the years, she worked at Landers Office Supplies, Prange Way, Simmons and Fleet Farm. Her most cherished work was within the walls of her home with her family.

She was known for her contagious laugh, strong will, kindness, spunky comments, and love and support for her family. Aside from her cooking abilities she was an excellent mother, wife and grandmother., She enjoyed sewing, diamond art, bird watching, fishing, and being on the water. You could also find her shouting at the TV while watching the Brewers and Packers with her husband, or relaxing while watching the Hallmark Channel.

Susie is survived by her husband: David Cornelius; sisters: Cheryl Beyer (Fiance: Jack Hoag); brothers: Ron (Colleen) Hein, Dan (Robin) Hein; daughters: Angela (Leon Jr. "Buddy") Fietzer, Steph (Wendall) Peeters, Tabby (Andy) Mares; son: Kenneth Cornelius; step-son: David Jr. "DJ" (Brittani) Cornelius; granddaughters: Nicole Schertz, Trisha Schertz, Bailey (Jeffery) Teske, Oakley Cornelius; grandsons: Alex Madson, Levi Fietzer and special friend Heather Meyer, Corbin Mares, Owen Miller, Oliver Cornelius; great-grandsons: Beckett Teske, Ethan Babbitt; mother-in-law: Stella Cornelius; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Judy Hein, Dan (Liz) Cornelius, Dean (Dawn) Cornelius, Doug (Julie) Cornelius, Sandy (Howard) Thomack, Cindy (Phil) Buttles, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters: Connie (Hein) Olson, Sheri (Hein) Burclaw; brothers: Leland Hein, Carlton Hein and Michael Hein; father-in-law: Bernard Cornelius; brothers-in-law: Robert Beyer and Dennis Cornelius; sister-in-law, Susan Larsen and her canine companion, Bear Bear.

The funeral service for Susie will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Symco with Rev. Jeffrey Smiles officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Symco. A visitation for Susie will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, from 4-7 p.m. at the Dahlke Life Celebration Center in Manawa and on Wednesday AT THE CHURCH from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m.
