Velma O. Fasher, age 91, of Manawa, fell asleep in Jesus on Tuesday, October 3, 2006, at the Manawa Community Nursing Center. She was born on February 14, 1915, in the Town of Union, Waupaca County, daughter of the late Herman & Christina (Scheider) Volz. On August 24, 1940, she married Clarence E. Fasher at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Symco. He preceded her in death on October 1, 1984. Velma lived and farmed with her husband Clarence in the Town of Union, Waupaca County, her entire life. She enjoyed fishing, bowling and playing cards. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Symco. She is survived by sisters-in-law, Margaret Kottke, Manawa; Myrene Volz, Neenah; a niece, Vonnie (Nils) McDermott, Waterford; two nephews, Lyndle (Kay) Volz, Stewart, FL; Larry (Cynthia) Volz, Green Bay; great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers and two sisters. The funeral service for Velma will be held on Friday, October 6, 2006, at 2 p.m. St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Symco with Rev. Jeffrey Smiles officiating. Burial will be in Little Wolf Cemetery, Town of Little Wolf. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Symco.
